Case A

IDENTIFICATION OF HOUSING NEEDS

  • We gathered information from nearly 500,000 homes in the municipalities of the national crusade against hunger to understand shortcomings on walls, floors, ceilings, furnaces and biodigesters
  • This project involved the application of questionnaires for socioeconomic identification and the taking of physical measurements in homes to determine the necessary volume to meet the gaps
  • The average time gathering information for each household was 110 minutes
  • The field structure that participated in the project involved about 3,000 people

NATIONWIDE TRADITIONAL CHANNEL SHELF CHECK OF VARIOUS PRODUCTS

  • All across the country, traditional channel establishments eligible for sale were identified.
  • Outlets in the traditional channel and the main points of informal trade (kiosks, newsstands, street vendors, etc.) were also classified in order to re-design go to market routes.
  • The actual size of the universe of establishments (POS Census) was quantified, focusing on the traditional channel and its segmentation characteristics.

VERIFICATION OF MONOPOLISTIC PRACTICES IN THE BEER RETAIL MARKET

  • The study allowed to measure dominance and recurrence of monopolistic practices, essentially in the exclusivity contracts held between different competing brewing groups and retailers.
  • Furthermore, we also measured if distribution and sales in the national territory are conditional on the obligation not to acquire, sell or market goods provided by third parties.

FEASIBILITY OF THE USE OF BANK CARD TERMINALS IN PUBLIC MARKETS IN MEXICO CITY

  • It allowed us to evaluate the feasibility of making payments with bank cards at outlets of small consumption.
  • Daily consumption pattern of the users of these markets was identified.

ASSESSMENT OF PRODUCTIVE CAPACITY OF NATIONWIDE RURAL HOUSEHOLDS

The statistical information collected from the survey allowed us to:

  • Conduct the analysis of the conditions that limit the productive activities of the rural population
  • Identify public resources received through transfers by public programs
  • Access and link households to markets within their community and beyond
  • Identify the required public support and their management through the appropriate authorities
  • Understand their ability to organize and form a collective association in productive projects
  • Measure self-consumption, postharvest losses, and their means to access storage

CONSTRUCTION OF THE ECONOMIC POTENTIAL INDEX FOR 2,456 municipalities

  • Created an index which enabled us to rank all municipalities in Mexico according to their mid-term economic development potential
  • The index identified growth regions which deserved special attention in the marketing of future products
  • The resulting indicator allowed our client to redesign their sales team strategy by optimizing their regionalization.

Generation of an Econometric Model to understand correlation between access to credit (mortgage) of Mexican families with the features of their homes

  • A methodology for obtaining financial information at the residential level with the objective of developing the econometric model was developed.
  • This model allows us to estimate the real cost of housing.
